    East Orange and Orange partner for first “Pink Out of the Oranges” to support breast cancer awareness and finding a cure


    The first “Pink Out of the Oranges” Walk will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The walk is a first-time collaborative effort of Brantley Bros. Moving and Storage, Faith Temple Church in East Orange, Wilfrid DuPont, the City of East Orange, East Orange City Council, the City of Orange and the Orange Municipal City Council. The walking route is roundtrip and will begin at Elmwood Park at Elmwood Avenue and Oak Street, travel to Orange Park, and then return to its starting location at Elmwood Park. More

    East Orange receives $150,000 from Essex County Local Aid to renovate the tennis courts at Soveral Park


    The City of East Orange has received $150,000 from the Essex County Recreation and Open Space Trust Fund to renovate the deteriorating tennis courts at Soveral Park, which was once a revered public space during the Golden Age of Tennis in East Orange from 1975-1984. More

    Annual citywide fire hydrant testing begins September 29


    East Orange, NJ, September 15, 2014 — The East Orange Fire Department, in cooperation with the East Orange Water Department, will begin annual fire hydrant testing on Monday, September 29. East Orange firefighters will test each of the city’s roughly 1,200 fire hydrants to ensure that they work properly. The testing will be conducted between 9:15 am–4:45 pm and will last for approximately two weeks. More

    East Orange, NJ – On Thursday July 3, 2014, Mayor Lester Taylor III appointed the new commissioners to the East Orange Water Commission (EOWC). After analyzing data documenting years of challenges and mismanagement, Mayor Taylor requested that four of the five previous commissioners resign.
